The Stages Of Death In The Movie The Bucket List

Justin Zackham’s 2007 movie The Bucket List demonstrates the five stages of death. These five stages are: denial, anger, bargaining and depression. Carter Chambers plays Edward Cole, a terminally ill man. They want to complete their bucket lists before they die. They are currently terminally ill with cancer and cannot go through all five stages.

In the first movie, you can see the stage denial. Carter Chambers lies in hospital and is asked his thoughts. He tells us that he fights for his life. He says he wants to live, and that he doesn’t want to die soon. He doesn’t express his sadness, even though he’s slowly dying. Additionally, denial can be shown through shock or displaced hostility. Edward Cole, an industrial billionaire, displays his anger via displaced hostility. Edward verbally abuses Thomas. This shows that those who are close to death attempt to forget the pain and turn their anger on someone else. Edwards anger is a sign that he’s trying to conceal his anxiety about the possibility of terminal cancer. Edwards anger and denial go hand in hand. Edward is angry and in denial. Carter Chambers, his roommate, is less upset about the situation. Carter is also in denial, but he doesn’t show anger towards the staff. Carter is instead resolving his internal denial.

Next comes anger and denial. Then, there is the next stage: bargaining. Negotiating is a way to reach an agreement with someone who has control of the situation. They are at the most desperate stage of their lives and will do any thing to fix it. The Bucket List’s bargaining stage occurs when CarteraEUR ™’s cancer becomes metastasis. He tries to negotiate and asks his doctors if he can have surgery for his terminal cancer. Then comes depression. Depression occurs when a person accepts that they will soon die. People may feel sadness and regret about the fact that they will soon die. The person might experience a type called preparatory depression. This is when they face the reality of losing everything and everyone they love. As they prepare for this loss, most people spend their grieving time in silence.

Acceptance is the final stage of death. You have reached your final stage. Now you must accept your terminal illness and loss. The movie ends with Edward and Carter reaching acceptance. Carter finally reaches for his family and wife. He spends time with his family and visits their home. He decided to spend his time at home, not racing across the globe to beat his cancer.

Edward on the other side, however, is happy to accept Carter’s fate. He finally agrees to go visit the daughter he has fought with for years. He wanted to forget all their differences, but he didn’t until he reached the final stage. This stage allows them to forget all that they’ve been through with their families in the past, and instead they decide to spend quality time with each other.
